Mjallby falls again – tough period for the team from Listerland
Tough week for Mjallby. First a loss in the European qualifier – and now another loss in Allsvenskan.
– We know it's tough, but what can we do? We can't just give up, says Axel Norén to TV4 after the 0–1 loss to Elfsborg.
Borås's Simon Olsson scored the only goal of the match after 22 minutes on Strandvallen.
The reigning champions from Listerland are in a tough period right now with a tight schedule and results going against them.
The team has only won one of their last 13 matches.
– We're fighting on and trying to turn things around together, says Mjallby's Axel Norén.
First match without Stroud
Mjallby's last Allsvenskan win was on May 9, when they beat Degerfors away 2–1.
The match was their first without Elliot Stroud – the Swedish World Cup player who according to Sportbladet is set to join English Hull City.
Elfsborg have now won two games in a row. They beat Malmö on July 26.
– It's great and fair, so it feels very good, says the guest goalkeeper Isak Pettersson to TV4.
How we work
SVT's news should stand for objectivity and impartiality. What we publish should be true and relevant.
In acute news situations, it can be difficult to get all the facts confirmed, then we should tell what we know – and not know.
