Kalmar’s star striker Charles Sagoe Jr. was instrumental as his team secured victory over Mjällby at the Guldfågeln arena. In the game's early minutes, Kalmar seized an unbeatable momentum with a goal from Elliot Stroud, who capitalized on Mjällby’s defensive struggles by scoring in just the third minute.

Stroud, known for his precision and technique, was close to doubling his tally but ultimately missed out when his lob attempt was deflected wide due to Kalmars goalkeeper Samuel Brolin's timely intervention. However, this early advantage wasn't enough to deter Kalmar as Mjällby pushed back later in the match.

In the 17th minute, substitute Aboubacar Keita delivered a goal after returning from his nine-month injury layoff. The American forward, Sagoe Jr.'s assist partner, managed to score his first goal in Allsvenskan with an exceptional header, bringing Kalmar level at 1-1.

In the second half, Kalmar capitalized on their momentum and took the lead again when Charles Sagoe Jr., known for mastering assists, found the back of the net himself six minutes before halftime by scoring from close range after a corner kick was delivered to his feet in the penalty area. This was Sagoe Jr.'s second goal in Allsvenskan and contributed significantly to securing three valuable points.

With this win, Kalmar are now level on points with Mjällby in the table, vastly improving their standing in the league. They continue to maintain an unbeaten streak at home since their debut game against Västerås on April 5.
