Mjallby AIF face a tough challenge away to AIK Stockholm at Strawberry Arena following a difficult run of results. The team has taken just one point from its last five matches and sits 12th in the Allsvenskan table with 21 points.

Poor form ahead of clash

The solitary point came in a 1-1 draw with BK Häcken last week, where Jacob Bergström scored his eighth goal of the season. Since then, however, it has been four consecutive defeats, including a heavy 3-0 loss to Red Bull Salzburg in August. Domestic form has been equally tough with losses to both Djurgården and IFK Göteborg. To turn the trend around, Mjallby need to rediscover the defensive stability that has been missing.

AIK are themselves coming off a home defeat to Västerås SK and have had an uneven start to the autumn. Mjallby's most recent starting eleven, which featured a five-man defence including Abdullah Iqbal and Villiam Granath, will likely get another chance to prove themselves. After the AIK match, a break in league play awaits before the next away fixture against Västerås SK in October.
